Yoga

Teacher Bio

Yoga has helped me to cultivate a healthy self-image and connect to myself on a physical, mental and spiritual level. I am a certified 200-hour level teacher. Through my classes, I hope to help others cultivate a healthy self-image and connect to themselves on a deeper level that provides strength both on and off the mat.

Teacher Story

I have been a dancer for over 15 years. Dance has shaped me into the person I am today and has helped me to be more in touch with myself. I originally began practicing yoga because I wanted to supplement my dance training. After a couple classes, I began to fall in love with the art of yoga. I would leave class and feel better physically, but I would feel even better mentally. I struggle with anxiety and PTSD. Practicing yoga has helped me to clear my head, view situations differently and gain tools that I can use on a daily basis to manage my mental health.

When I practice yoga regularly, I can see a clear connection to the improvement of my mental health. Yoga helps me to be more aware, present, mindful and grateful for every aspect of my life. I can see the lessons of each day more clearly and connect from a perspective that acknowledges feelings and circumstances do not define who I am at my core. Yoga has given me mental and physical strength that is hard to be matched in any other form of exercise.

I will graduate from Slippery Rock University in the spring of 2021 with a BFA in Dance Performance/Choreography and a BS in Integrated Marketing Communications. I am a certified 200-hour yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and plan to deeper my knowledge with future teacher trainings. I hope to share my knowledge with my students in a way that allows them to find an inner strength within themselves to tackle the lessons of everyday life and progress forward towards their goals.
